About Vista Fox
Vista Fox is an Adelaide-owned window cleaning and architectural window film operator working across metro Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills. We hold WERS for Film accreditation through the Australian Glass and Window Association and the Window Film Association of Australia and New Zealand, we’re a WFAANZ member listed in the Find-a-Tinter directory, and we run the business the way we’d want one run on our own west-facing living room: book-online easy on cleaning, sample-before-spec on film, written quote before either job starts.
The fox sees clearly through windows, knows what makes the view, and finds what’s blocking it. That’s the local-knowledge brief in one line. It’s the only place on the site we’ll lean on the metaphor — we figure the work speaks louder than the name.
Why Adelaide windows need an Adelaide window specialist
A national franchise can squeegee a pane. So can the cheapest crew on Airtasker. Neither one knows the difference between a 1920s Norwood villa with original leadlight and bay windows (heritage glass, museum-grade UV film without changing the aesthetic, AS 1288 read before quoting) and a 2015 Mawson Lakes townhouse with floor-to-ceiling west-facing glass and no eaves (textbook solar-film job, WERS for Film energy certificate after install). Get those distinctions wrong and the homeowner — not the contractor — wears the difference between “the leadlight looks weird now” and “we cut the heat without changing the look.”
Adelaide’s window profile is its own world. The eastern suburbs are heritage stone-and-leadlight stock — Burnside, Norwood, Walkerville, Unley, Prospect — with original glazing that pre-dates AS/NZS 2208 entirely; that pre-1990 stock is where security and UV film earn their place as a glass-upgrade alternative to replacement. The coastal western corridor — Glenelg, Henley Beach, Grange, Tennyson, Brighton, Seacliff, Hallett Cove — is the strongest west-facing solar-film zone in metro Adelaide; Gulf St Vincent at 3pm in February is what drives most of the residential film calendar. The Hills carries acreage moderns with full-glass facades and altitude-bumped UV intensity, where solar and UV film protect the floors without darkening the room. The northern plains carry new-build estate stock — Mawson Lakes, Springwood, Eyre, Munno Para — with uniform west-aspect glazing and minimal eaves, the textbook volume play for solar and privacy film.
That’s the patch. Reading it correctly is the job.
What we do — two registers, one operator
Vista Fox runs two correctly-pitched modes inside one business. We don’t dilute either by pretending they’re the same conversation.
Window cleaning — book-online, jobs this week. Residential, commercial, end-of-lease, high-rise rope access, solar panels, gutters, exterior soft-washing. The buyer wants a clean job, a price they can predict, and an easy way to re-book in three months. Pure deionised water on every exterior; microfibre and squeegee on every interior. Most metro residential cleans booked online go on the calendar for the same week.
Architectural window film — sample-and-spec, premium specialty. Solar, UV, privacy, security, decorative and signage film. The buyer wants film performance numbers, an installer who knows AS/NZS 2208 from AS 1288, and a sample they can hold against their own light before they commit. WERS for Film accredited, AS/NZS 2208 compliance sticker affixed at install, twelve-year manufacturer warranty on film and labour.
The two funnels run on the same site. Cleaning starts with the book-online flow and an instant price preview. Film starts with a free posted sample and a measurement-and-quote site visit. Different buyers, different decisions, same operator, same paperwork.

Architectural-film only — said once
Vista Fox does architectural window film for homes and businesses only. We don’t compete in the automotive segment of the Adelaide tinting market — that’s a different shop with different standards, different installation conditions, and a different buyer. We mention it once here because it’s a credential signal for the architectural buyer, not because it’s a competitive complaint about anyone else’s work. The energy a competent automotive shop puts into automotive is exactly the energy we put into architectural — film roll, glass, room, AS standard, WERS rating, twelve-year warranty. Different specialty, different standard, same level of seriousness about the work.
Credentials and standards — the moat
The Adelaide film industry splits cleanly in two on credentials. Real architectural film operators carry WFAANZ membership, WERS for Film accreditation, manufacturer authorisation, and quote against the AS/NZS 2208 + AS 1288 standards. The afterthought end fits films out of a generic roll without the compliance sticker, without the energy certificate, without the warranty paperwork. We sit on the credentialed side and we’ll show you the documents without being asked.
- WERS for Film accredited installer. The Australian Window Energy Rating Scheme for applied window films, jointly administered by the Australian Glass and Window Association (AGWA) and the Window Film Association of Australia and New Zealand (WFAANZ). After every solar-film install we hand over the WERS energy certificate — the AU-recognised performance number that an architect, energy assessor or NatHERS specifier accepts.
- WFAANZ member. Listed in the Find-a-Tinter directory at wfaanz.org.au. WFAANZ is the peak body for window film installers, manufacturers and distributors in Australia and New Zealand.
- AS/NZS 2208 — safety glazing materials in buildings. On every safety / security film job, the installed film must carry a Grade A or Grade B compliance sticker affixed at install. We affix it. Most Adelaide tint shops skip this step entirely.
- AS 1288:2021 — glass in buildings, selection and installation. The glass standard the original window was specified against. We read it before quoting to determine whether a non-safety pane can be upgraded with film or whether the glass needs replacing. The standard’s a tool, not a marketing badge.
- Manufacturer accreditation. Authorised installer status on our primary film brand line. Manufacturer warranties cover film and labour for twelve years on architectural-grade product.
- WaterSafe / chemical-handling compliance for the cleaning side. Pure deionised water systems, no detergent run-off into stormwater, AS/NZS-compliant pressure equipment.
- Working at Heights Certification (RIIWHS204E) for high-rise and gutter work; IRATA-trained for rope-access.
- Public liability insurance — $20 million. Certificate of currency available before any job starts.
If a contractor can’t produce these documents, you’re not looking at an architectural film operator. We bring ours to every quote.
What to expect when you contact us
The first 24 hours after you make contact tell you whether we’re worth booking. The two funnels run differently — here’s exactly how each works.
For window cleaning:
- You book online or call. The booking flow takes about two minutes — postcode, home size, storeys, date and time, contact. The page returns a price preview at step three so there’s no callback wait for a number.
- SMS confirmation inside an hour. Real person on the other end, not a bot. Crew lead, ETA window, what’s included.
- Crew arrives in PPE you can clock as PPE. Branded polo, harness for any work above 2m, decalled van, water-fed pole on the roof rack. Pure-water reach-and-wash on every exterior; microfibre and squeegee on every interior.
- Walk-through before we leave. Anything missed gets re-done before the invoice goes out.
- Recurring schedules locked in if you want one. Quarterly, six-monthly or annual schedules save 10% on every visit after the first. Cancel anytime.
For window film:
- You request a free sample. Form on this site, posted swatch in the post inside two business days. The swatch is the right size to hold against your own light, in your own room, against your own furniture — film looks different in a showroom under fluorescent than it does in a Burnside living room at 4pm in February.
- We call to scope the job. Once you’ve seen the swatch and decided which film direction makes sense, we book a measurement-and-quote site visit — usually 30–45 minutes, no obligation.
- Written quote inside two business days. Names the film brand, WERS rating, visible light transmission, SHGC, the AS standard the work is to, and the warranty term. GST-inclusive, itemised, valid for 30 days.
- You decide. No follow-up sales calls.
- Install runs to AS/NZS 2208 + AS 1288. Compliance sticker affixed at install on safety/security work. WERS energy certificate handed over after solar-film jobs. Twelve-year warranty paperwork in your inbox before the invoice.
How we work — three principles
- Quote in writing before any work starts. Cleaning gets a price preview before you confirm; film gets a written quote before any roll is cut. No verbal “she’ll be right” pricing on either side.
- Standards literacy on every film job. AS/NZS 2208 sticker affixed at install. AS 1288 read before quoting. WERS energy certificate handed over after solar-film. The standards are tools we use, not marketing badges.
- Two funnels, kept separate. Cleaning runs on the book-online flow. Film runs on the free-sample funnel. Buyers who need both get both — but the funnels don’t dilute each other.
Where we work
Greater Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills — from Gawler in the north to Sellicks Beach in the south, and east to Mount Barker and Hahndorf. The five regional pages — Eastern Suburbs, Western & Coastal Suburbs, Northern Suburbs, Southern Suburbs and Adelaide Hills — list every suburb we cover and the glass profile and sun aspect specific to each.
Outside that footprint we don’t pretend we can be there in time. Send a photo through the quote form and we’ll either book you in or refer you to a closer crew.
